The fact that the Renewable Fuel Standard works as well as it does is remarkable. Oil consumption in the US peaked several years ago, and ethanol has taken about 10% of oil's business. The oil companies are trying to eliminate the RFS and if they do, we'll be back in our embarrassing rut.
